Bell work: Students will read Article on Procrastination and respond to the following prompt:
What can a person do to improve on getting tasks (homework, work, chores, etc.) completed on time? Use specific details from passage. Find sentences to put in quotes to add to your short answer, at least one solid paragraph.
Class work: Students will read The Watch, page 909. Students to complete questions on page 916-917.
Homework: Study for 12 Angry Men.
WEEK 15, DAY 2
Bell Work: Students will study for 12 Angry Men.
Class Work: Students will complete FCAT Writing prompt, 45 minutes.
Students will take 12 Angry Men test.
Homework: Students will study for Unit 7-9 test.

Bell Work: Students will study for Unit 7-9 test.

Bell Work: Students will complete FCAT worksheet.
Class work: Students will read Photo Essay: The Grapes of Wrath, page 927. Students to complete: Connect to Literature number 1, Comprehension check all dots, Think Critically: 1.
Homework: Students will find a photo with individuals doing an activity, and then create a five paragraph story about the picture. This could not really be what is happening in the photo, but what is perceived may lead the audience to think it.
Week 15, Day 5
Bell work: Students will get in groups of four for 10 minutes, exchanging photos and stories. Students will choose the best among the four and read the story along with the picture. Collect all short stories.
Class work: Students in the group of four will be given one picture, each member will write one paragraph adding on the first person’s idea. Write a final copy and present on Monday.
Homework: Essay is written based on picture.
Week 16, Day 1
Bell work: Students will review their stories based on the picture given to them.
Class work: Students will present their story to class, each reading a segment of it aloud.
Students will begin reading “Letter to Edith Mirrielees” by John Steinbeck, page 942. Complete questions Thinking through the Literature in literature section. Discuss after 10 minutes,
Homework: Write a letter to a teacher that has made a difference. This should be of quality, neat, pen or typed.

Prompt: What is the chance that a defendant who is … different in our society have of getting an unbiased decision? (If the jury members are working and middle class white males.)
Class Work: Students will finish performing one act plays.
Homework: Look in the newspaper, magazines, the internet and find an example of teens accused of a crime and the verdict of punishment. Write a brief summary of the individuals, the situation, and the outcome. Next, do you think the outcome was justified (the jurors made the right choice in sentencing)? Explain.

Students will write their own descriptive story using sensory details about “The Pedestrian”.
